Germany ratifies the Protocol on the Provisional Application of the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court

The German government deposited the instrument of ratification for the Protocol on the Provisional Application of the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court. Ratification is an important precondition for the implementation of the European patent reform providing for a Unitary Patent and a Unified Patent Court in the future. So far, 15 countries have ratified the Agreement: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania and the Netherlands. On this basis, the Agreement will enter into force once it has also been ratified by the Federal Republic of Germany.
