Through a nationwide roadshow in 2026 and 2027, the DPMA will specifically raise awareness among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups about the strategic benefits of intellectual property rights. A total of eight events are planned for 2026 and another eight for 2027, organized in close cooperation with the Patent and Information Centers and the Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Association of Intellectual Property Professionals (VPP). The focus is on a practical exchange “by SMEs, for SMEs”: Success stories, best practices, and openly shared challenges and “lessons learned” are intended to highlight the economic significance of intellectual property rights. The goal is to further strengthen the existing network of multipliers and to visibly support innovation in the regions. The roadshow deliberately draws on the combined expertise and reach of all its partners—because promoting sustainable innovation is most successful when done collaboratively.
