Diversity and inclusion at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office

We fly the rainbow flag
Respecting the different opinions, values and lifestyles of our staff is firmly anchored in the strategy of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA).
For us, this is a natural part of an appreciative style of cooperation and communication in all areas of our office. A working environment that enables and offers diversity and inclusion is very important to us. Our guidelines for leadership and cooperation clearly express this. Openness, mutual respect and recognition: these are values that form the common basis at the DPMA. Values that we live by together every day.
Our common goal is to create a working environment in which all employees can develop their full potential - regardless of their gender, sexual identity, age, disability, skin colour, religion or world view as well as their cultural and social background.
This summer, Christopher Street Day (CSD), a day of action that makes diversity visible, will once again be celebrated in many cities around the world. Millions of people take to the streets in colourful parades and demonstrate for equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex and queer people (LGBTIQ*) to set an example for diversity, respect and solidarity.
On the occasion of the CSD in Munich on 28 June, we will hoist the rainbow flag at the main building of the DPMA in Munich for the first time. This is our commitment to an open, tolerant society - and shows that diversity is visible and welcome here.
