More than 20 regional patent information centres (PIZ) in Germany provide comprehensive information on industrial property protection. These patent information centres are recognised cooperation partners of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office. The services of the centres cover five main areas:
Some centres accept IP applications for transmittal to the German Patent and Trade Mark Office. The range of services of each individual patent information centre is shown on the website of the respective centre.
The patent information centres see themselves increasingly as all-round providers of services in the field of industrial property protection. They intend to further raise awareness for intellectual property and IP information among enterprises and research institutions in their region. At the same time, they wish to be perceived as another important active part of the innovation landscape, in addition to industry, science and research, and aim to succeed in this environment.
Do you look for a patent information centre in your vicinity? On the website of 'Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Patentinformationszentren' you will find a list of all patent information centres and their contact details.
