Common Communication

issued by OHIM and trade mark offices on IP Translator

The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) in Alicante has issued a Common Communication together with the DPMA and other European patent and trade mark offices describing how the ECJ's judgment on IP Translator of 19 June 2012 will be complied with by trade mark offices of the European Union in future. This is to harmonise the implementation of the judgment and thus to ensure legal certainty for the competent authorities as well as the economic operators.
