DPMAconnect

Interface to German Register and Publication Data

DPMAconnect is based on DPMAregister, our register and publication service. DPMAconnect allows you to directly access all official register and publication data online, through an interface, from DPMAregister in an automated and comfortable way. You can use the data obtained for internal or commercial purposes, for example, for legal status monitoring or for integration into online or offline databases. The file numbers are not required for requesting data and the query options correspond to the expert search under DPMAregister.

Initially, DPMAconnect includes exclusively trade mark data. All text and image data of national trade marks since 1875 are available. The retrieval of data of other IP rights (patents, utility models and designs) is planned to be introduced in the course of 2012. Here you find an overview of the data available under DPMAregister.

It is not allowed to download data of other patent and trade mark offices via this interface.

Availability of data

You can request all data any time through the interface. We update the register data daily, the publication data weekly (for patents and utility models usually every Thursday, and for trade marks and designs usually every Friday).

Technical requirements

You can access the interface at https://dpmaconnect.dpma.de. The interface description is based on the Web Service Description Language (WSDL). To enable you to use the service we will create an account for you with username and password. You will have the option to create your own client implementation or use the reference client implementation provided by us. Please contact datenabgabe@dpma.de, should you wish us to set up a test account for you.

Costs

DPMAconnect is available at no cost.

Warranty

The DPMA can neither guarantee uninterrupted access via the interface nor the permanent availability of the data of DPMAregister.

Contractual agreement

The use of the service is subject to a standard agreement to be concluded with the DPMA. The agreement sets out the rights and duties as well as the purposes of use of data. Please fill in the standard agreement

Please note:

For reasons of data protection, the DPMA may provide its data only for specific purposes of use. In Section 3 of the agreement, you can indicate the intended purpose.
We have pre-formulated two options of use with a) and b) that you may tick. These rights of use already meet data protection requirements.
In the free text fields c), d) and e), you can adjust the possible use to your specific needs. If you use the free text fields, please specify your intended use as precisely as possible, as your intention will be checked for data protection requirements by the DPMA.
Please send the agreement together with the annex in duplicate to the DPMA. And please note that the agreement must have a legally valid original signature.
