DEPATISconnect

Defined interface to the DEPATIS document archive

In addition to the weekly download via DPMAdatenabgabe you can directly download patent and utility model data from the DEPATIS document archive via a defined interface.
You can download data exclusively via the document identification number. Other search options, for example, by applicant, IPC, etc. are available in the freely accessible DEPATISnet database.
From DEPATISconnect you can download the facsimile data of DE, DD, EP and WO documents and optionally the corresponding bibliographic data. These data are available in PDF, TIFF or BACON format. If available, you can also obtain the full texts of DE and DD documents in XML or DATIMTEX format. It is not allowed to download patent documents of other patent offices via this interface.

Availability of data
The data are available 24 hours a day via the interface. The data of the current publication week are usually available to you at 0.00 CET on the publication date

Test data/technical requirements
It is possible to set up a temporary test account subject to one-time payment for setting up the connection. If you conclude a DEPATISconnect agreement subsequently, the payment for the connection will be offset against the overall charges. The pdf- Datei technical specification (in German) provides a detailed description of the connection to the interface.

Costs
We only charge the costs for setting up your connection to the interface to the DEPATIS document archive and the operational costs. At present, prices are:

  • one-time payment to set up the connection: 250 Euro
  • annual costs for use: 4,800 Euro


Guarantee
The DPMA cannot guarantee uninterrupted access via the interface and permanent availability of the data in the DEPATIS document archive.


Contractual agreement
The data supply via the interface is subject to an agreement to be concluded with the DPMA. Please fill in the DEPATISconnect standard agreement

Please note:

For reasons of data protection, the DPMA may provide its data only for specific purposes of use. In Section 3 of the agreement, you can indicate the intended purpose.
We have pre-formulated two options of use with a) and b) that you may tick. These rights of use already meet data protection requirements.
In the free text fields c), d) and e), you can adjust the possible use to your specific needs. If you use the free text fields, please specify your intended use as precisely as possible, as your intention will be checked for data protection requirements by the DPMA.
Please send the agreement together with the annex in duplicate to the DPMA. And please note that the agreement must have a legally valid original signature.
